Government’s plans for constructions skills and apprentices

https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/apprenticeships-levy-employer-owned-apprenticeships-training

  • requirement to support apprenticeships and skills through public procurement extended to all Government procurement
  • threshold reduced from £50 million contracts and programmes to £10 million.
  • Procurement Policy Note 06/15 for sustainable skills development through major projects to be replaced by one capturing wider scope this week.
  • new policy takes effect from 1 September.
