Call for Abstracts for 20th ICSMGE, Sydney 2021

The Call for Abstracts for the 20th International Conference on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ICSMGE) is open with a deadline of Friday, 3 April 2020.

The 20th ICSMGE will be held in Sydney, Australia between 12 and 17 September 2021. Further details can be found on the conference website here.

For UK participants, abstract and paper submissions are coordinated and reviewed by the British Geotechnical Association (BGA). Abstracts (up to 250 words) should be submitted by sending a Word or pdf file to sydney2021@britishgeotech.org. If the abstract is accepted, authors will be invited to submit a full paper. Papers may be between 4 and 6 A4 pages in length. The paper template will be made available in due course.

Submission Guidelines (20th ICSMGE)

• Abstracts must be written in English or in French.
• Abstract submissions must include abstract title, author(s)’ name(s), affiliations, addresses and contact numbers, and the email address of the corresponding author.
• Abstract body (including references) should be in text only and should not exceed 250 words.
• All abstracts should clearly state: Objectives, Methods and Conclusions.
• Abstracts will be required to be associated with one, or up to three, of the ISSMGE’s Technical Committees (TCs). Please note that author(s) do not necessarily need to be members of TCs but the topic of the paper needs to align with at least one ISSMGE TC. A list of TCs can be viewed here.
• Abstracts must be received by 3 April 2020. Abstracts received after the deadline will not be considered.
• Corresponding authors of abstracts that are accepted by the BGA will be required to upload their individual abstracts to the ICSMGE portal. Instructions will be provided on notification of acceptance.
