Call for submissions – BGA annual conference young engineers’ poster competition 2025

BGA Annual conference 2025 - calling for poster submissions for the Young Engineers' Poster Competition. A prize of £150 is awarded. Deadline for submissions is Monday 16th June 2025.

Call for poster submissions for the Young Engineers’ Poster Competition

For many years we have invited students to present their work in the form of posters at the Annual Conference at One Great George Street in London. Recently we inaugurated a competition for the best poster, for which a prize of £150 is awarded.

We are inviting all Young Geotechnical Engineers to submit pdf posters digitally on any topic of their own work dealing with the engineering behaviour of the ground, whether it be a description of an industrial design or construction project, development of a new piece of equipment, or state-of-the-art research.

Please note that accepted posters submitted digitally MUST also be printed as per the instructions below and be brought to the conference venue by the student for display on the day of the Conference. Display boards will be available for the students to hang your posters but BGA cannot print the posters for you.

Date of event and deadline for submissions

The date of the competition is 25th June 2025 at the BGA Annual Conference and AGM in London.

The deadline for submissions is midnight on Monday 16th June 2025.

Posters will be assessed prior to the event by a small group of judges. All posters will be displayed at the conference and the winner announced on the day. Following the event all posters submitted will be available to view on the BGA website.

We encourage as many applicants as possible, as this is a great opportunity for young engineers to showcase their work at this early stage in their careers.
