2015 Crossrail Technical Papers Competition

Introduction

Tuesday 12 th April 2016 at 6.15pm

This is an open event where the shortlisted finalists from the annual Crossrail Technical Papers Competition will present their papers.

The presentations will cover a variety of engineering and geotechnical topics relating to recent Crossrail design and construction works. The Crossrail Technical Papers Competition runs annually and receives papers from a number of disciplines within a broad engineering and technical theme. It is open to all organisations currently or previously involved in the project, including designers, contractors, joint ventures and those working for Crossrail Limited.

Titles and authors for the evening are:

    • ‘In-tunnel depressurisation for SCL tunnels at Whitechapel and Liverpool Street stations’ – Roser Soler Pujol & Alessandra Colace
    • ‘An innovative verification process speeds construction of Crossrail’s Moorgate shaft’ – Hock Liong Liew
    • ‘Covered Way 126 – Safeguarding a brittle structure over a live railway during ground movements’ – Richard Bailey & Mark Steele
    • ‘3D geological model of the completed Farringdon underground railway station’ – Angelos Gakis & David Entwisle

2025 GE Awards: Submission deadline extended
