Introduction

An Early Career Group Event on the 7th March 2016 at 6.00 pm

The BGA Early Career Group are pleased to invite you to March’s event. The talk will cover case studies of the observational method from Heathrow to Boston, and back again. This is a unique opportunity to hear about the application of instrumentation, engineering judgement and close collaboration between clients, contractors and designers on award winning projects carried out over two decades. Alan will cover the Heathrow Express recovery works, the Boston Central Artery tunnel jacking and the Heathrow Airside Road Tunnel. The lecture was first delivered in 2009 as the Vienna Terzaghi Lecture and has been repeated at lectures in Asia. This is the first time the lecture has been presented in the UK. This talk will offer an enjoyable and comprehensive treatise of the potential of the method.
