Introduction

BGA Annual Conference

The BGA Annual Conference is an all day event, to be held on the 19 June 2019 at the ICE, London. 2019 is the BGA’s 70th anniversary, and the theme of the conference is Celebrating 70 years of BGA and the next 70 years of innovation in geotechnical engineering

The event is free to attend, but registration in advance is required, via the link at the bottom of this page.

The conference programme starts at 1000hrs, with registration and breakfast refreshments available in the Great Hall from 0900hrs.

The morning session will include talks on future challenges, digital technologies and innovations in the geotechnical field.

The BGA’s AGM will follow a lunch break. The AGM will include a number of presentations as well as the award of various prizes.

The afternoon session will include presentations from young engineers with the BGA’s Cooling Prize winner and the MSc Dissertation Prize winner. There will also be talks on numerical analysis and very deep excavations in the UK.

Alongside the conference programme there is an exhibition with posters from various universities detailing their current research.

The event will conclude with a drinks reception.
