The 2nd session of the BGA ECG MOGE Discussion Series is now open for application. We invite engineers of all levels, from early-career to professionals, to learn about the latest content of the manual. This is a unique opportunity to engage with the broader engineering community and facilitate insightful discussions.
We are thrilled to announce that our first session will feature esteemed speakers Prof. John Burland, Hilary Shields, and Dr Stuart Hardy. They will lead an enlightening discussion on the 'Fundamental principles of Soil
Mechanics,' sharing their invaluable insights and experiences. The session will include an overview of selected MOGE chapters, including Chapter 14: Soils as Particulate Materials, Chapter 17: Strength and Deformation Behaviour of Soils, and Chapter 19: Settlement and Stress Distributions, with examples of application of their content in current engineering practice. This will be followed by an interactive discussion led by our ECG representative Dr. Riccardo Scarfone.
Programme:
18.00-18.30 – Refreshments
18.30-19.30 – Presentation by the Speakers
19.30-20.00 – Q&A and Discussion
After 20.00 – Drinks
