The British Geotechnical Association (BGA) is the principal association for geotechnical engineers in the UK.
The British Geotechnical Association (BGA), with the generous support of the Association of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Specialists (AGS), is excited to announce the launch of Women in Geotechnics (WiGeotech) Afternoon Tea. This is a special, half-day networking event that will bring together professionals across the British Ground Engineering sector to inspire, connect, support and celebrate the power of collaboration, resilience, and shared success across the UK.

This is a special, half-day networking event that will bring together professionals across the British Ground Engineering sector to inspire, connect, support and celebrate the power of collaboration, resilience, and shared success across the UK.

With inspiring talks and compelling panel discussion, WiGeotech will bring together people of all genders and backgrounds from all levels of seniority and specialisation in Ground Engineering, creating a supportive forum to:
The goal is to build a lasting community that enhances representation, visibility, and opportunity for women in Ground Engineering – and to guide the next generation in ways many of us never experienced ourselves.
This event will also have a major focus on promoting the Ground Engineering Profession to the next generation of students/early careers as a career of choice; it is therefore encouraged that each mid-career to senior leader attendee brings along a student/early career ‘plusOne’.
The event will conclude with the announcement of the GE Magazine Top 20 Women in Ground Engineering for 2026.
