The British Geotechnical Association (BGA) is the principal association for geotechnical engineers in the UK.
In advance of the 2026 BGA Rankine Lecture, Imperial College London is holding a half day seminar, to celebrate the 90th birthday of Professor John Burland. The event will be held at the City and Guilds Building, Imperial College London and chaired by Professor Jamie Standing.
The seminar will run from 1:15-4:30pm on the 18th March 2026, in advance of the Rankine lecture at 5:30pm.

Registration is not required and all are welcome to attend.
The seminar is followed by the 64th Rankine Lecture in the Ondaatje Lecture Theatre at the Royal Geographical Society (RGS), South Kensington, London. Details of the Rankine Lecture can be found here.
