Yorkshire Geotechnical Group – U32 Presentation Competition 2020

Synopsis

The Yorkshire Geotechnical Group of the ICE are hosting their annual presentation competition for young geotechnical engineers. The event will take place on Tuesday 8th December 2019 at 6.00 PM and will be hosted on Microsoft Teams.

The format for the competition comprises of 10-minute presentations from up to six shortlisted finalists, followed by questions from the judges.

A separate poster competition will be judged alongside the presentations and the best poster will be awarded a prize. The poster competition is open to all and does not require the entrant to be participating in the presentation competition. All submitted posters will be displayed on the YGG LinkedIn group for the remainder of the season.

Judging of the presentations and posters will be carried out on the night by a panel of judges from industry.

The presentations and posters should include a summary of the geotechnical or geological work carried out by the entrant, including a statement of the aims of the project or study, the methods employed, and the results gained together with analysis, conclusion and recommendations.

An intermission presentation will be given by WSP.
