Professor Charles Ng announced as 65th Rankine Lecturer

The British Geotechnical Association (BGA) is pleased to announce that the 65th Rankine Lecture will be delivered by Professor Charles Ng of the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology (HKUST).

Charles Ng is Vice-President for Institutional Advancement and Chair Professor of Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at HKUST. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and served as the President of the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering from 2017 to 2022. His work focuses on unsaturated soil mechanics, eco-geotechnics, debris flow mitigation and landslide prevention, and soil-structure interaction engineering.

The lecture will be held on 24th March 2027. A venue in London is being arranged and will be announced in due course.
