Professor Kenichi Soga announced as 63rd Rankine Lecturer

Professor Kenichi Soga announced as 63rd Rankine Lecturer

The British Geotechnical Association (BGA) is pleased to announce
that the 63rd Rankine Lecture will be delivered by Professor
Kenichi Soga of the University of Berkeley California.

Kenichi Soga is Professor of Mineral Engineering at the University of Berkeley California and the Director of the Berkeley Center for Smart Infrastructure. He has 40 years’ experience, has published more than 450
journal and conference papers and is the co-author of “Fundamentals of
Soil Behavior, 3rd edition” with the late Professor James K Mitchell.

Kenichi’s research focuses on infrastructure sensing,
performance-based design, maintenance of infrastructure and energy geotechnics.

The lecture will be held at Imperial College London in March 2025.
