Professor Lidija Zdravkovic announced as 62nd Rankine Lecturer

The British Geotechnical Association (BGA) is pleased to announce that the 62nd Rankine Lecture will be delivered by Professor Lidija Zdravkovic of Imperial College London, UK.

Lidija Zdravkovic is Professor of Computational Geomechanics at Imperial College London and Head of Geotechnics Section in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Lidija has 30 years’ experience in research, teaching and consulting in geotechnical engineering. She has authored around 250 technical papers which span her research interests in the development and application of numerical methods in geotechnical engineering and in the experimental characterisation of diverse soil behaviour.

In her response to the invitation Professor Zdravkovic said ‘I feel very privileged to have been selected by the British Geotechnical Association to deliver the 62nd Rankine Lecture. The lecture will likely include my research interests of integrating advanced numerical methods and ground characterisation to address contemporary geotechnical engineering challenges of energy security, decarbonisation and climate change’.

The lecture will be held at Imperial College London in March 2024.
