The January/February 2025 issue of Ground Engineering includes site reports on the exploratory programme for the Coire Glas scheme in Scotland and the construction of a basement in London’s ‘justice quarter’, as well as a recap of the British Geotechnical Association Early Career Group’s discussion series on the second edition of the ICE Manual of Geotechnical Engineering.

The issue also includes the publication of the paper from the team that won the Ground Engineering and Mott MacDonald 2024 Early Careers Challenge, which this year focused on sustainability and carbon reduction. In addition, it has an interview with the winner of the 2024 John Mitchell Award, Yvonne Ainsworth, speaking on her framework for success.

The issue also has a Q&A with the Federation of Piling Specialists Early Career Group vice chair, Matthew Hurst, as well as the latest news and opinion.
