Preparing for ICE Professional Review - Avoiding 'geotechnical failures' 2018

Tuesday 20th February 2018 at 18:30 hours
Mott MacDonald Ltd, 10 Fleet Place, London, EC4M 7RB

Delivered by David Beadman from Byrne Looby Partners & Alison Graham from Atkins.

The BGA Early Career Group are pleased to invite you to February’s event. The talk will provide practical guidance for geotechnical engineers on how to approach the Professional Review and interpret the ICE guidelines into the geotechnical field. If you are considering sitting for your Professional Review in the near future, this event will be a unique opportunity to get insight from two very experienced and well-accomplished geotechnical engineers, who are currently ICE Reviewers. David Beadman will talk about how to achieve different attributes and demonstrate competence at the Professional Review. Alison Graham will present some tips and advice on how to avoid potential pitfalls at the Professional Review. The presentations will be followed by a short mock review including a presentation and an interview with a recent successful geotechnical engineer. This will be followed by a Q & A session with David, Alison and a number of recent successful candidates. Thanks are extended to Mott MacDonald for hosting the event.
