Blue Piling Technology

by

Jasper Winkes

Founder and director of Fistuca BV

BLUE Piling Technology is a revolutionary new technology for driving large piles offshore. The technology breaks with the tradition of using larger and larger impact hammers to drive piles offshore but instead utilises what is abundantly available offshore....water!

The technology creates the pile driving energy using combustion generated pressures to accelerate a large column of water onto the pile head. The longer blow duration in comparison to standard steel ram pile drivers, allows significant reductions in both the noise generated and fatigue damage to the pile during pile installation. The technology allows silent, cost-effective installation with lower fatigue levels of the largest piles in the world.

Biography: Jasper Winkes is the founder and director of Fistuca BV. He graduated in 2008 in Mechanical Engineering (Combustion Technology) at the Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands. Following his graduation, he founded Fistuca BV, in order to develop innovations in the field of foundation equipment and to deliver engineering services for pile driving equipment. In 2011, Fistuca BV began developing BLUE Piling Technology, which allows silent offshore pile driving. In 2015, Fistuca set a new industry record for the highest pile driving energy ever delivered.
