Call for nominations for ISSMGE TC 207 (Soil-Structure Interaction and Retaining Walls) and TC 208 (Slope Stability)

THE CALL FOR NOMINATIONS IS NOW CLOSED

Dr Andrew McNamara, the ISSMGE Secretary-General has said that the ISSMGE wishes to re-establish two Technical Committees (TCs). These are:

  • TC 207 (Soil-Structure Interaction and Retaining Walls)
  • TC 208 (Slope Stability)

The BGA, as a Member Society of ISSMGE, is therefore invited to nominate members to participate in the activities of these Technical Committees.'

Anyone wishing to volunteer should respond to the BGA by email at bga@ice.org.uk before 21st March 2024, with the following information:

  • The TC you wish to join
  • The email address and telephone number you wish to use for TC correspondence
  • A short (~50 words) note on your specific interest(s) in the topic of the TC
  • Whether you wish to join the TC as a Nominated or Corresponding member (see note below)

Each Member Society can have two Nominated (voting) members on a TC. Member Societies can add Corresponding (non-voting) members with no specified limit on numbers. If more than two people volunteer to act as Nominated members, the BGA will make a choice. (Note that, in practice, there is very little difference between the contributions that can be made by Nominated and Corresponding members.)
